A public hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. March 9 prior to the regular Marilla Town Board meeting on a proposal to rezone another 39 acres at Two Rod Road and Clinton Street for business use.
About 45 acres owned by Marjorie Rohl is now zoned for business, but the town Planning Board has recommended the entire parcel be rezoned to include several restrictions.
Those include: type of business, setbacks, limited access onto Clinton, shared parking and driveways.
Supervisor John Foss told The Buffalo News that he preferred businesses like pharmacies, small retail shops, hardware stores, shoe repair, barber and beauty shops, Laundromats, dry cleaners and professional offices.
Minimum setbacks from the road have been suggested, as well as connecting shared parking lots and driveways onto Clinton and Two Rod. A berm in the rear was recommended to shield neighbors.
Building size would be limited to 15,000 square feet. The site is near the large Kwik Fill gas station and strip plaza on the opposite corner.
