Robert E. Rindell, a retired electrical inspector, died Wednesday in his East Aurora home after a long illness. He was 87. Born in Alden, he grew up in Corfu and lived in East Aurora for the last 53 years.
From 1948 until retiring in 1980, he was a branch manager of the New York Board of Fire Underwriters. He was a member of the Adequate Wiring Bureau and the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.
He also was a Mason and member of the East Aurora Fire Department.
His first wife, the former Molly Bartlett, died in 1985.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, the former Ethyl Davis; two daughters, Bobette Hurd of East Aurora and Marilyn Hamchuk of Warnerville; a stepdaughter, Sandra Kushner, and a stepson, Douglas Nelson, both of Bliss; a brother, Orten of Corfu; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in First Presbyterian Church, 9 Payne St., East Aurora. Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Corfu.
