Private services will be held for Dr. Harvey R. Goldstein of Amherst. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn.
Dr. Goldstein, 55, died Monday after suffering cardiac arrest during surgery. He had been on disability retirement since December 2003.
A gastroenterologist with a private practice in Williamsville, the Buffalo native attended Nichols School, where he played football, hockey and tennis.
He graduated from Hamilton College and from the University at Buffalo Medical School. He served a fellowship at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, Calif., and was licensed in both California and New York.
Dr. Goldstein was a member of the Erie County Medical Society, the American Gastroenterologist Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Anti-Aging.
Survivors include two daughters, Jordan and Olivia; three sons, Carl, Jed and Jake; his mother, Loraine Rawlings Goldstein; and his fiancee, Sally Andolina, all of Amherst.
