Robert J. Amos of Lackawanna, a Calspan employee and Vietnam veteran, died Saturday in Erie County Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 60.
Born in Lackawanna, he graduated from Lackawanna Senior High School.
He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of Bennett-Wells Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
For 20 years, he was a general utility worker at Calspan.
Mr. Amos was a member and trustee chairman of J.W. Loguen Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Cynthia Diane Reed; four daughters, Roberta Shelton of Atlanta, Kim Smith of Rochester and Okausa Campbell and
Lenore Peterson, both of Buffalo; a son, Aaron of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Barbara Jean Smith of Buffalo; two brothers, Ronald of Buffalo and Lavon of the Town of Tonawanda; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in True Bethel Baptist Church, 907 E. Ferry St., after a wake at 10. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery, West Seneca.
