Elige Carthon Jr., a former laborer, died unexpectedly Monday in Deaconess Center. He was 68.
A native of Fort Deposit, Ala., he moved to Buffalo at age 26. He worked at Wolkins Bros. until becoming disabled in 1981.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, the former Ida G. Walls, and three sons, Donnie, Curtis and Darrell, all of Buffalo; four sisters, Mary Moore of Pontiac, Mich., Catherine Lloyd and Lois Barlow, both of Buffalo, and Ethel Carol Mack of Cheektowaga; two brothers, Elisha of Cleveland and David of Detroit; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Friday in Pilgrim Baptist Church, 665 Michigan Ave. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
