Jeanne Van Boxel, a longtime resident of Lakewood, Ohio, died Friday in Elderwood Health Care Center at Crestwood, Niagara Falls. She was 84.
She was born in Sandusky, Ohio, and lived in Lakewood for 81 years before moving to the Niagara Falls area a few years ago to be close to family.
Mrs. Van Boxel worked for Prudential Insurance Co. in the Cleveland area for more than 25 years prior to her retirement in 1987. She was a driver for Meals on Wheels and a volunteer at the Lakewood Christian Center and at Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was married in April 1941 to Edward Ivan Boxel, who died in 1994.
She is survived by three daughters, Ruth Mutal of Bothell, Wash., Sara Cessna of Grand Island and Mary Dignin of Santa Rosa, Calif.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Lakewood.
