Shirley Ann Schimenti of Amherst, bookkeeper for her family's business, died Friday in Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a long illness. She was 68.
Born Shirley Ann Carrigan in Durham, N.C., she graduated from high school there. She moved to Buffalo in 1955.
Mrs. Schimenti was the bookkeeper for the family business, Sunset Fruit and Vegetables of Buffalo.
She was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Town of Tonawanda
She and her husband, Joseph E., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last May 7.
Other survivors include a daughter, Teresa Larson of East Amherst; a son, Michael of Amherst; two brothers, Edward E. Carrigan and James Carrigan, both of Durham; and 11 grandchildren.
Prayers will be said at 8:45 a.m. Monday in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda, followed at 9:30 by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Christopher Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
