Giuseppina Macaluso, a retired seamstress and Amherst resident, died Friday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a long illness. She was 74.
Born Giuseppina Macaluso in Sicily, she moved to the United States from Florence, Italy, in 1968.
Mrs. Macaluso was a seamstress for Bojax Sportswear Co. in the City of Tonawanda for 15 years, retiring in 1982. She worked on the manufacture of team jackets for the Buffalo Sabres.
Mrs. Macaluso was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and a member of Club Dell'Immacolata Italiano '74.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Antonio Macaluso; two daughters, Fran Arcuri of Williamsville and Sonia Ferguson of Amherst; two sisters, Michelina Velardi of Buffalo and Lillian Prisinzano of East Amherst; a brother, Nicola Macaluso of Buffalo; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Gregory the Great Church, 100 St. Gregory Court at Maple Road, Amherst, with prayers at 9 in Perna-Pellegrino Funeral Home, 1671 Maple Road, Amherst. Entombment will be in St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
