Services for Edward G. Bove, retired Erie County buildings and grounds supervisor, were held today in Grace Lutheran Church. Burial was in St. Matthew's Cemetery, West Seneca.
The Buffalo native died Tuesday in his South Buffalo home after a long illness. He was 73.
Mr. Bove served in an Army ordnance unit from 1952 to 1954.
He worked for the county from 1968 until his retirement in 1992.
Before he became buildings and grounds supervisor, he was the county's cabinetmaker. Many of the podiums, cabinets and other projects he built are still in use in county offices.
He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, the former Marie F. Grandits; four daughters, Bonnie R. Ryan and Brenda J. Rasinski, both of Buffalo, Annette M. Blackbourn of Sardinia and Jaimee L. Best of Lancaster; two sisters, Loretta Willson of West Seneca and Dolores Bove-Doering of Buffalo; and nine grandchildren.
