A memorial service for Kevin T. Cook, of Buffalo, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Church of the Advent, 54 Delaware Road, Kenmore. Burial in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda, will be at a later date.
Mr. Cook died unexpectedly Dec. 9 in his home, after apparently suffering a heart attack. He was 55.
Born in Buffalo, he was a 1969 graduate of Kenmore West High School. He earned an associate's degree in business/management in 1976 from Bryant & Stratton Business Institute, then a bachelor's degree in business/public management in 1978 from SUNY Institute of Technology in Utica.
Mr. Cook served with the Coast Guard from 1970 to 1974. He worked as a security guard for Wackenhut Corp. from 1978 until the time of his death.
A longtime resident of Kenmore, Mr. Cook had lived in Buffalo for the past five years.
A Mason, he was a member of Highland-Ely Lodge 835 since 1976 and became a master in 1988. He also was a member of Valley of Buffalo Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite; Tonawanda Keystone No. 71, Royal Arch Masons; Tonawanda Commandery 78, Knights Templar; and Post 10, Masonic War Veterans of the State of New York.
Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth J. of Buffalo, and a sister, Linda of Buffalo.
