A Mass of Christian Burial for Dolores "Mary" Puntillo was offered today in St. Paul Catholic Church, Kenmore, after prayers in Perna-Pellegrino Funeral Home.
Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Mrs. Puntillo, a retired store clerk, died Monday in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, after a brief illness. She was 94.
The daughter of immigrants from Naples, Italy, she was born Dolores Gaglione in Buffalo.
A longtime resident of Kenmore, Mrs. Puntillo in recent years moved into Dosberg Manor on the grounds of the Weinberg Campus in Getzville.
Mrs. Puntillo worked at Hengerer's department store in Buffalo in the early 1930s. She also worked in the customer service department at the Sears store at Main Street and Delavan Avenue for about 25 years.
She later worked part time at the Fannie Farmer candy story in Amherst's Sheridan Plaza.
Mrs. Puntillo was a volunteer in Kenmore Mercy Hospital and often assisted the Consolata Missionary priests in Williamsville.
Her husband of more than 23 years, Pasquale, died in 1958.
