Carrie L. Pleasant, a longtime Buffalo resident, died Friday in the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Cheektowaga, after a brief illness. She was 75.
Born Carrie White in Tuscaloosa, Ala., she moved to Buffalo in 1961. She was a graduate of Kensington Business Institute.
Mrs. Pleasant had worked as a dietary aide at BryLin Hospital from 1978 until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. Her interests included reading and cooking.
Her husband, Johnnie Jr., died in 1994.
Survivors include three daughters, Zera L. Joyner of Jacksonville, Fla., Carol A. Benton of Buffalo and Sharon J. of Pollard, Ala.; a son, William Mitchell of Troy; two sisters, Willie Mae White of New York City and Louise White of Alabama; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at noon Friday in Pilgrim Baptist Church, 665 Michigan Ave. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
