Nancy J. Sarkees, a business teacher at LaSalle Senior High School, died Friday in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. She was 77.
Born Nancy J. Sahagian in Niagara Falls, she graduated from Niagara Falls High School and earned a bachelor's degree in education from Niagara University.
She taught business in the city school system, primarily at LaSalle Senior High School, retiring in the 1990s.
Mrs. Sarkees enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and going to the casino.
Her husband of 43 years, Yazbeck T., died in 1977.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Sukmanowski of Grand Island; two sons, Ameen Y. of Merrit Island, Fla., and Yazbeck Jr.s of Niagara Falls; a sister, Altoon Sahagian of Niagara Falls; and nine grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in Our Lady of Lebanon Catholic Church. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
