Raymond J. "R.J." Bach of Buffalo, a retired Ford Motor Co. general foreman, died Friday in Buffalo General Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 74.
Born in South Buffalo, Mr. Bach was the youngest of 17 children. He graduated from South Park High School, where he played baseball, and from Erie County Technical Institute.
He joined the Navy and served aboard the USS Randolph during the Korean War.
Mr. Bach was stationed in Boston, Mass., where he met his wife, the former Margaret Kozlowski. The Bachs were married 50 years when Mrs. Bach died in 1999.
For 30 years, Mr. Bach worked at Ford's Buffalo Stamping Plant in Hamburg.
After retiring, he enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include six daughters, Peggy Allen of Virginia, Ellen Festaiuti of Orchard Park, Cindy Komosinski of Cheektowaga, Joni Redlinski of Orchard Park, Tina Kurowski of West Seneca and Terry Shipkey of Texas, and nine grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Victory Basilica, Ridge Road and South Park Avenue, Lackawanna.
