>Menorah lighting set
Chabad House of Buffalo will sponsor the lighting of a giant community menorah at 4 p.m. Sunday at the office of Dr. Jeffrey Meilman, 811 Maple Road, Amherst.
The menorah is one of the tallest in the country.
The six bell tower clocks of Corpus Christi Church at 189 Clark St. have been restored after more than a decade of inactivity.
Clock components donated from Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish and technical support from a variety of area clock experts allowed the clocks to be fixed with volunteers.
>Walk to the manger
True Bethel Baptist Church will commemorate the walk of Mary and Joseph, looking for a place for the birth of Jesus, during a special re-enactment beginning at 2 p.m. today.
Actors, actresses and animals will walk from True Bethel's downtown location at 472 Swan St. to the East Side location at 907 E. Ferry St.
>Temple plans shabbat
Rabbi Harry Rosenfeld will lead a "Magical, Mystery Shabbat" at 6 p.m. Friday in Temple Beth Zion, 805 Delaware Ave.
Families are invited to bring menorahs and candles to light with other members of the community.
Worship will be followed by a dinner featuring Israeli food. Dinner is $10 for adults, $6 for children 2 to 12. Call 836-6565 by Wednesday for reservations.
