>Amity reigns at meeting of new housing board
Commissions engaged in no arguments Friday, and almost all votes were unanimous.
Welcome to the Lackawanna Municipal Housing Authority's new board of commissioners.
Two new commissioners were at the table Friday: Thelma Glover, appointed by Mayor Norman L. Polanski Jr. last month after Salvatore A. Monaco's term expired; and Joseph DiCenzo, appointed to serve the year remaining in the term of John Bozich, whom the mayor removed after alleging "inefficiency and neglect."
Bozich has gone to court to challenge his dismissal, but unless a judge rules otherwise, DiCenzo stays on the board, according to City Attorney Arcangelo J. Petricca.
Well-known in Lackawanna as a government watchdog, DiCenzo offered repeated suggestions Friday about matters of procedure. He brought his own copy of the latest edition of Robert's Rules of Order -- a manual of parliamentary procedure -- and suggested other commissioners be provided copies at the authority's expense.
