Bulletin Board / Notes and upcoming events

Matt Stasiak of Clarence shared runner-up honors in the junior/senior division with Jake Williams last weekend in a Winternational Junior Series golf tournament at Pinehurst (N.C.) Resort.

Stasiak finished the two-day tournament with a 17-over 158, one stroke behind division winner Chason Trahan of Charlotte, after a closing round 78 on Pinehurst No. 1. Stasiak, who opened with an 80 on Pinehurst No. 2 -- site of this past season's U.S. Open, had a chance to force a playoff but posted a double bogey on the par-3 finishing hole.

Through three events, Stasiak and Williams of Midlothian, Va., are tied atop the points standings with 177.5, according to the Winternational Junior Series Web site (www.juniorgolfpinehurst.com). Williamsville's Evan Baskin-Evans stands 11th in the points race with 75.

The series continues Jan. 7 on Pinehurst's No. 6 course.
