Volunteers Community organizations seeking help

Habitat for Humanity/Buffalo operates a ReStore at 501 Amherst St. to offer donated building supplies and home furnishings for sale at modest prices. It is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Volunteers are needed to pick up donations, staff the front counter and sort and stock merchandise. Call Tim Stalker, ReStore manager, at 480-8220 or 852-6607 for information on how you can be involved.

The Pet Connection Programs is a special care, injury and maternity facility dedicated to the rescue of abandoned or orphaned animals. The group is looking for dependable people who can spend at least five hours per month at fund-raising events. Activities include setting up a booth and passing out informational literature; pet therapy (taking animals to schools and nursing homes); being a speaker and writing grants. Individuals are needed to spearhead and take charge of events.
