Frances W. Davidson, longtime volunteer May 17, 1918 -- Nov. 24, 2005

A memorial service for Frances W. Davidson, a longtime Kenmore resident and an active volunteer, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Londonderry Presbyterian Church, Londonderry, N.H.

Mrs. Davidson died Nov. 24 in an assisted living facility in Windham, N.H. She was 87.

Born Frances Watkins in Buffalo, she grew up in Kenmore and graduated from Kenmore High School. She attended Skidmore College and was active in the Skidmore Alumni Association.

A tireless supporter of many community groups and charitable organizations, Mrs. Davidson was a volunteer for more than 50 years for the Lighthouse Association for the Blind and the Blind Association of Western New York, which honored her for her extraordinary service.

She was a member of Deerhurst Presbyterian Church in Kenmore and was active on numerous committees. She also was a longtime active member of Sandy Beach Yacht Club on Grand Island. She moved to New Hampshire in 2001.

Her husband, William T., died in 1987.

Survivors include two sons, William of Derry, N.H., and
Robert of Guilford, Conn.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
