Ruth E. Stoeckert, retired bookkeeper Oct. 4, 1924 -- Dec. 18, 2005

Services for Ruth E. Stoeckert, a retired bookkeeper, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Nativity Lutheran Church, 970 E. Main St., East Aurora. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, East Aurora is private.

Mrs. Stoeckert died Sunday in her East Aurora home after a brief illness. She was 81.

Born Ruth Reif in Buffalo, she graduated from Kensington High School.

She was a bookkeeper at Larwood Pharmacy in East Aurora from 1972 until retiring in 2001.

Mrs. Stoeckert was a charter member of Nativity Lutheran Church in East Aurora. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion in East Aurora and the Advent Chorale.

She enjoyed knitting, baking and playing cards.

Her husband, William, died in 2003.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Carr of Grand Island and Cynthia Shippert of Lusby, Md.; two sons, Wayne of Buffalo and Richard of East Aurora; a brother, Robert Reif of Amherst; and seven grandchildren.
