Phyllis E. Timm, who retired from the Main Street Jenss store when it closed, died Monday in Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. She was 81.
Born Phyllis Estes in Windham, Maine, she moved to Niagara Falls as a child and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
As a young woman, she worked as a clerk for Loblaws, as an inspector for Carborundum Co. and as a clerk at the Robert Hall store. She then worked for Jenss at the Mil-Pine Plaza as a sales clerk, retiring from the Main Street store when it closed.
Mrs. Timm was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Edward of Niagara Falls; a son, Robert E. of the Town of Niagara; a brother, Walter Estes of Grand Island; and a grandson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Private burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
