Nussbaumer and Clark, a local multidisciplined engineering and land surveying firm, named four new employees. John Raimondo, with 20 years experience, rejoined the firm in June and is party chief to the Survey Department. Megan Benson, with 5 years experience in land surveying and computer drafting, was named survey technician. James Hogan, presently working on civil engineering design for subdivisions in the South Towns, has a BS in civil engineering and applied mathematics from the University at Buffalo. Lois Steinig, named survey technician, brings 27 years of experience in Cartography, CAD Design and Development and Graphic Arts.


The SKM Group, a Williamsville marketing communications agency, named Sue Currie creative director. She will be managing development and the execution of content and visual strategies as well as production activities. Also, Matt Hames was named senior copywriter, Robert Murphy was named senior art director, and Wendy Page was named proofreader and copy editor.

>Company items, a bookstore owned and operated by a group of University at Fredonia students, opened a Buffalo location at 1601 Elmwood Ave., at the corner of Amherst St. The site was chosen because it is located near college campuses making it convenient for students to sell back textbooks at the end of each semester. The West Seneca Chamber of Commerce named Shell Fab and Design, custom countertop manufacturers, the 2006 Business of the Year in recognition of the company's contributions to area schools and service organizations as well as the Chamber of Commerce. The company, owned by Marty and Michelle Monaco, is located at 2855 Clinton St.


Moe's Southwest Grill franchises in Western New York retained Magic Marketing of Wilson to provide publicity and public relations services. Brad and Drew DeGrazio of Rochester recently opened locations at 5063 Transit Road in Amherst and 3231 Southwestern Boulevard in Orchard Park.



The East Hill Foundation, a private family foundation founded in 1986, awarded two grants totaling $12,600 to the Lt. Col. Matt Urban Human Services Center of WNY to fund transportation services for children who participate in the agency's Extended Day/After-School Violence Prevention Program. The program serves 150 economically disadvantaged children through educational opportunities, supervised youth recreational/social activities, prevention services and counseling services.
