Teresa G. Galligan, a retired secretary, died Saturday in her Cheektowaga home after a brief illness. She was 79.
Born Teresa Walters in Buffalo, she was a lifelong Buffalo-area resident. She worked as a secretary for 27 years at Calspan Corp., retiring in 1994.
She was a graduate of St. Mary's Business School in Buffalo.
She was a parishioner of St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Depew.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting and an active social life with lifelong friends and family members.
Her husband of 39 years, Richard J., died in 1988.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ellen Wolniewicz of Clarence Center; a son, Robert of Las Vegas; three sisters, Dorothy Baszczynski of Depew, Alice
Cervellera of Cheektowaga and Marion Dilucci of Cattaraugus County; a brother, John L. of Buffalo; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Barnabas Church, 2049 George Urban Blvd., Depew. Prayers will be said at 10:30 in Pacer Funeral Home, 2275 George Urban Boulevard, Depew. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
