A Mass of Christian Burial for Marie Ziegler, a retired registered nurse, will be offered at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Amelia Catholic Church, 2929 Eggert Road, Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Mrs. Ziegler died at her home in Largo, Fla., after a lengthy illness. She was 86.
Born Marie Wittschack in Buffalo, Mrs. Ziegler worked as a registered nurse at what was then E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital and later as a private nurse until her retirement in 1998.
In 1946, she married Gerard J. Ziegler, who died in 1973.
A member of St. Amelia's Church, she had moved to Largo in 2002 to be closer to three of her children.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine F. Wilson of Forestville, and Clarice M. of Largo; three sons, Robert J. and William G., both of Largo, and Gerard E. of Summerville, S.C.; a sister, Annamarie Shaw of Valparaiso, Ill.; a brother, Justin Wittschack of Texas; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
