Grace M. Mancuso, who managed a Crown Hosiery outlet in Buffalo for many years, died Thursday in her Clarence home after a brief illness. She was 96.
The former Grace M. Siragusa was born in Fredonia and moved to Buffalo in 1940. During World War II, she worked for the Chevrolet plant on Delavan Avenue. After the war, she joined Crown Hosiery and managed the Grant Street store. She retired in the late 1950s.
Mrs. Mancuso enjoyed cooking, dancing, listening to big-band music and playing cards. She was an active member of the Richmond-Summer Senior Center.
Her husband of more than 40 years, Joseph L. Mancuso, died in 1978.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce E. Doyle of Bramalea, Ont., and Rita M. Wolinski of Clarence; a brother, Marion Siragusa of Sedalia, Mo.; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 8500 Main St., Harris Hill, after prayers at 9:15 in the Amigone Funeral Home, 5200 Sheridan Drive, Amherst. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Fredonia.
