Ernestina Perosa of Buffalo died Friday at home after a brief illness. She was 89.
Born Ernestina Vineis in a small town outside Milan, Italy, she worked in a factory from age 12 until her 30s.
After marrying Victor Perosa, she moved to the United States in 1948, and they settled in Buffalo.
She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Survivors include a daughter, Emily Vaccaro of Buffalo, with whom she lived; a sister, Carmen Vineis of Italy; and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mark's Catholic Church, 401 Woodward Ave. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
