Sister M. Maurelia Olemberski, who was a primary school teacher for 51 years, died Thursday in Colette Hilbert Health Center. She was 82.
Born Irene B. Olemberski in New Bedford, Mass., she entered the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph in 1940 and professed her final vows in 1946. She had earned an associate's degree from Caldwell College in Maryland.
She taught at several Catholic schools in Maryland, Connecticut and Massachusetts. She retired in 1996 to the Immaculate Conception Convent in Hamburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Convent Chapel, 5286 South Park Ave., Hamburg. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
