Kathleen M. LaTona of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of the Town of Tonawanda, died Dec. 7 in a Hospice in Florida after a long illness. She was 49.
Born Kathleen Gardner in Syracuse, she moved to the Buffalo area as a child and grew up in the Town of Tonawanda. She moved to Bradenton 11 years ago.
Mrs. LaTona worked for Trico Products Corp. while she lived here and as a teaching assistant in Bradenton. She was once named Employee of the Year at Palma Sola Elementary School.
She loved to garden, and was an avid bird-watcher.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Michael; a daughter, Jacqueline, and a son, Christopher, both of Bradenton; her parents, Philip and Mary Lou Gardner of Amherst; a sister, Carol Gardner of Merrick; and two brothers, John Gardner of the Town of Tonawanda and James Gardner of Sarasota, Fla.
Services were held Monday in Bradenton.
