James Earl, a retired supervisor with E.I. du Pont de Nemours in Niagara Falls, died last Saturday at his daughter's home in Bradenton, Fla. He was 79.
Born in Greenfield, Mass., he lived most of his adult life in North Tonawanda and served with the Marine Corps during World War II.
He worked at DuPont's Buffalo Avenue plant for 34 years, retiring in 1981.
Mr. Earl was a member of the American Legion Wheatfield Post and AmVets Post 26 in North Tonawanda.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Sylvia Mountain; one son, Thomas Frederick of North Tonawanda; three daughters, Joanne Amaru of Orleans, Mass., Nancy Cristiano of Bradenton and Cathy Earl of Wylie, Texas; one sister, Phyllis Andrew of Bradenton; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in April at the Riverdale Cemetery in Lewiston.
