Man indicted on count of attempted murder
BELMONT -- Ronald L. Brantley, 41, of Wellsville was indicted Wednesday on a charge of second-degree attempted murder.
Assistant District Attorney Keith Slep said an Allegany County grand jury also indicted Brantley on charges of first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
Brantley is accused of defying an order of protection and choking a woman nearly unconscious in Wellsville on Aug. 12, said Slep.
Sheriff's deputies said Brantley is in Allegany County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
