The Hamburg Art Center presented awards at its annual Fall Members Art Show reception on Nov. 19. Recipients were: Catherine O'Neill, best-of-show; Fritz Raiser, first place; Nancy Miller, second place; Lorraine Kudelka, third place; Marjorie Norton, Mary Cary Murray and Judi Witt, honorable mentions; and John R. Acker, the Grace Rosati Memorial Award.
The Lancaster Regional Players received a special citation from the Theatre Association of New York State for their production of "Over the Tavern." The show was recognized for meritorious achievement in ensemble work by the director, cast and crew.
The Friends of Harmony, a chapter of the Seneca Land District of the national Barbershop Harmony Society, is seeking male singers. The group performs in the community as well as in competition. The Amherst Museum is seeking loans of vintage and modern motorcycles, riding gear, photographs and ephemera for an upcoming exhibit, "Looking for Adventure: 20th Century Motorcycles." The exhibit is scheduled to run June 6 to Aug. 14. The bikes will be needed for three months starting in mid-May through the middle of August. Motorcycles do not need to work but must have a good overall appearance. Owners must contact the museum by Jan. 10 in order to be included in the exhibit. Brother Augustine Towey, former director of Niagara University Theatre, will have his play "Vincent in Heaven" published for local, national and international distribution. The play spotlights the engaging humanity of St. Vincent de Paul, founder of the Congregation of the Mission.
