Adam E. Jones Sr. of Buffalo, a retired employee of Pillsbury Corp., died Monday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center of natural causes. He was 88.
Born in Atlanta, Mr. Jones moved to this area in 1938. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe.
He worked at American Standard from 1946 to 1975, then at Pillsbury from 1976 until he retired in 1982.
Mr. Jones was a founding member of Bennett-Wells Post 1780, American Legion.
His wife, Leila Robinson Jones, died in 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Olive and Linda Coppock, both of Buffalo; two sons, Adam E. Jr. of Buffalo and Duane A. of Shrewsbury, Pa.; four sisters, Mildred Johnson of Cleveland, Sara of Detroit, May B. of Chicago and Barbara Harding of Minneola, Kan.; a brother, Robert L. of Buffalo; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday in Evangelistic Temple & Community Church Center, 92 Hedley Place. Burial will be Saturday in Forest Lawn.
