Music and wine
Forever Elmwood will feature a wine and food tasting and local music from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Insite Gallery, 810 Elmwood Ave.
Wine is courtesy of Eber Brothers, food is from Globe Market and other Elmwood food sites, and the musicians include Kevin Doyle and Lori Jacobs and the Nicely-Brill marimba duo. Check www.foreverelmwood.com for further details.
A fast-growing national chain now has two sites in Western New York. Moe's Southwest Grill is located at 5063 Transit Road, Amherst, and 3231 Southwestern Blvd., Orchard Park, and features a menu of burritos, tacos, quesadillas, salads and frozen margaritas, too. There's a kids' menu for those under 12.
The franchises are owned and operated by Brad and Andrew DeGrazio, two brothers from Rochester who have lived and worked in Scottsdale, Ariz. Both locations are open seven days a week from 11 a.m.
Tony Rome's Globe Hotel & Restaurant is now serving hot buttered rum on its premises at 711 Main St., East Aurora. The famous but secret recipe is made from a special batter recipe with rum (duh!), of course, and a dash of nutmeg.
Not only that, the drink is also being served in a special 25th anniversary commemorative mug for customers to take home. Next year is owner Rocco Sorrentino's silver anniversary in the historic hotel, and the mug marks the start of a yearlong celebration.
Last week's Short Orders column gave incorrect hours of operation for La Dolce Vita, 1472 Hertel Ave. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m.
