Garden Notes / News from area clubs and other events

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens will present "Bagels and Botany" from 8:45 a.m. to noon Saturday. A light breakfast will be followed by a fall planter demonstration, a workshop on composting and a tour of the Shrub Garden, Portico Garden and Conservatory. Take home seeds, plant cuttings and potted plants. Session is $30 for members, $35 for non-members. Call 827-1584. Ext. 200

Bowmansville Garden Club will present a workshop at 7 p.m. Monday in the Bowmansville Fire Hall. Members will use pressed flowers to create a floral design. Check the yearbook for supply list.

Willow Ridge Garden Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Zion United Church of Christ, 15 Koenig Circle, Town of Tonawanda. Member Shirley Magee will demonstrate how to make a hypertufa trough. New members and guests welcome. For information, call 693-8666.

The Williamsville Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Clarence home of Harry and Charlene Kern for a program on drying flowers in a microwave oven.

The Orchard Park Garden Club will meet at noon Thursday at the Orchard Park Presbyterian Church. Following the business meeting, Fann Markel, from the Floristry, will demonstrate elegant autumn and holiday arrangements.
