ALL STARS DAY: More than 100 Roswell Park Cancer Institute blood and marrow transplant patients and family members will celebrate second chances and remember loved ones at the fourth annual BMT All-Stars Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Gaylord-Cary meeting room, Research Studies Center, Elm and Carlton streets. Festivities include Dancin' Bear DJ's Andrea and John Billias, children's activities, tie-dying T-shirts and more. It is sponsored by the Pepsi Bottling Group. ST. FRANCIS WEEK: In recognition of the work of St. Francis, Hilbert College's weeklong activities will begin with a Habitat for Humanity volunteer work group doing renovations on a Buffalo home from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 35 Bradley St. On Monday, another volunteer group will prepare and serve meals to the area's homeless at 3 p.m. at Little Portion Friary, 1305 Main St. Other events include a liturgy and departure ceremony for Charles Ernst, Ph.D., of Buffalo and Kate Maragliano of Hamburg, this year's Franciscan pilgrims; a "Peace Walk with Pets"; a Franciscan/Italian luncheon; theme supper; film festival; and a Blessing of the Animals. ROCK RESEARCH: Earth Science Day, sponsored by the Hamburg Natural History Society and the Buffalo Association of Professional Geologists, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Penn Dixie Paleontological and Outdoor Education Center in Hamburg. HIP HOP AUDITIONS: Ask GOD 1st Hip Hop Dance Entertainment will hold auditions for the AG-1 Hip Hop Dance Coalition from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Oct. 8; and from 2:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday and Oct. 9 at the Dance Camp, 16 Linwood Ave. Dancers will be instructed by professional break dancer B-Boy Xcape ArtiZ of Fox Sports, American Idol, Converse and Living Proof.
