Are you tired of being retired? Do you want to make an impact on others ina positive way? The Buffalo General Hospital is looking for volunteers on an ongoing basisto function as patient representatives, information desk representatives, aswell as a host of other opportunities. Those interested are invited to stop at the hospital to check out a book that contains job descriptions.

"You will not have to worry about parking, meals or developing good and lastingfriendships, and you can name your own hours," said the Rev. Augustyn. The Erie County Retired & Senior Volunteer Program will recognize more than 1,100 volunteers who have given 170,000 hours of service this year at area schools, hospital, cultural organizations, nature preserves, food pantries and other agencies. About 600 people are expected at the Hearthstone Manor in Depew for a Friday lunch and recognition of their community service. Richard Kloc will be acknowledged for giving more than 1,800 hours of service to the Veterans Administration this year.
The program, one of the largest volunteer efforts in the United States, has been sponsored through Erie County Department of Senior Services since 1971. For information on opportunities, call 858-7548.
