Niagara stops Colgate streak

After 10 games and almost 12 years, Niagara finally defeated Colgate in men's soccer, scoring a 2-1 victory Wednesday at the Raiders' Van Doren Field.

Rafael Venturini broke a 1-1 tie in the final minute by scoring on a free kick. Niagara freshman Eric Brodfuehrer (Kenmore East) had tied the game in the 79th minute when he scored on a pass from Kwame Oduro. The Purple Eagles improved to 3-4-1 while Colgate slipped to 4-3-2.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Medaille beat Hilbert in four games, 30-17, 30-15, 30-32, 30-18. Laura Strank (West Seneca West) had 35 assists for Hilbert.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The University at Buffalo will open its schedule against Canisius on Nov. 18 and then entertain nonconference rivals Syracuse and Auburn at Alumni Arena in the following four days. The schedule:
