Iola M. "Billie" Juenker of the City of Tonawanda, a homemaker, died Tuesday in Kenmore Mercy Hospital, Town of Tonawanda, after a long illness. She was 95.
Born Iola Roth in Buffalo, she attended St. Mary's Business School and worked as a secretary and claims agent for a Buffalo insurance company before becoming a full-time homemaker in the early 1950s.
A member of St. Francis of
Assisi Catholic Church and Our Lady of Victory Marianist Mission, she was a life member of St. Ann's Sodality of St. Mary Church in Swormville.
Mrs. Juenker also was a member the Tonawanda Seniors, the Forever Young Seniors and the Kenmore Mercy Guild. She was a volunteer at Kenmore Mercy Hospital for many years.
She enjoyed singing, dancing and going to concerts and musicals. Always ready for an adventure, she rode in a hot-air balloon and the Maid of the Mist tour boat on her 91st birthday.
Her husband of 49 years, J. Donald, died in 1988.
Her brother-in-law, Monsignor Paul R. Juenker, will offer a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Francis of Assisi Church Chapel, 150 Broad St., City of Tonawanda, after prayers at 9:15 in Dengler & Roberts Funeral Home, 2070 Eggert Road, Amherst. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
