"Autumn in New York" will be the theme of the World Organization of China Painting's 15th bi-annual convention Oct. 6-8, to be held in Adam's Mark Hotel.
Cora Jean Rapsard of Schenectady is president and Victoria George of Arcade is vice president of this year's event.
The convention and show are free and open to the public Oct. 6. From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. that day, demonstrations of china-painting techniques will be offered by world-renowned artists.
A highlight of Thursday's show will be the 8 p.m. auction of hand-designed and china painted porcelain, also open to the public.
The auction will feature fine works of porcelain donated by artists from the United States, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Vietnam, England and more. To view examples of items to be auctioned, log onto www.theshop.net/wocporg.
