Carol B. Bogdan, officer in family business April 19, 1930 -- Sept. 27, 2005

Carol B. Bogdan, of Garfield Road, died Tuesday in WCA Hospital after a five-year battle with cancer. She was 75.

A Buffalo native, the former Carol Blount moved to the Jamestown area in 1961. She was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph's High School in Buffalo.

She was vice president and secretary of the family business, Yaw Oil Co., a gasoline and petroleum products distributor in Jamestown, from 1974 until her retirement in 1995.

Mrs. Bogdan was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society and was honored with a life membership in the Bush Elementary School PTA. She enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Theodore F.; two daughters, Janet Bowman of Jamestown and Elizabeth
"Betsy" Albro of Philadelphia; two sons, Theodore J. and David, both of Jamestown; two brothers, Thomas and Robert Blount, both of Buffalo; and eight grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in SS. Peter & Paul Church, Cherry and Sixth streets. Prayers will be said at 9:30 in Lind Funeral Home, 805 W. Third St. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
