Private services will be held for Ruth Marie Dombrowski of West Seneca, a retired shipping department supervisor. Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
Mrs. Dombrowski died Sept. 1 in the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Cheektowaga, after a brief battle with cancer. She was 88.
She was born Ruth Shoemaker in Buffalo, one of 13 children, and attended Lafayette High School.
Mrs. Dombrowski retired in 1995 as head of shipping and receiving at McCauley Metal Products, where she had worked for 52 years.
A longtime Kenmore resident, she lived in South Buffalo for eight years before moving to West Seneca in 1993. She enjoyed baking and knitting.
Her husband of 33 years, Walter J., died in 1980.
Surviving are a daughter, Esther Koszela and a son, Douglas J., both of West Seneca; a brother, Robert Shoemaker of Grand Island; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
