RUMMAGE SALE -- The Women's Fellowship of Kenmore United Church of Christ will hold a fall rummage sale from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and a $1 bag sale from 9:30 a.m. to noon Friday in the church hall at 295 Delaware Road. Maureen Einhiple and Dorothy Stout are chairwomen of the event. . . .

CHOWDER TIME -- St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 6379 Wolcottsville Road, Akron, will host a chowder day and bazaar from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Takeout customers should provide their own containers.

In addition, a "huge" rummage sale will begin at 8 a.m. Beef-on-weck, pies, baked goods and produce will be available. Proceeds will be used for hurricane relief, African hunger and parsonage repairs. . . .

A THEME BASKET auction sponsored by the Parent-Teacher League and Ladies of St. John Lutheran Church and School will begin at 11 a.m. Saturdayat the school, Ward Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard, Wheatfield.

The drawing will be held at 2:30 p.m.. An admission donation of $5 will be collected and includes 25 tickets. Extra tickets will be available as well as lunch and refreshments. For information, call 731-2437 or 692-6809. . . .

SPAGHETTI DINNERS will be served from 1 to 3 p.m. Sundayin the Bishop Peplowski Parish Center, 6298 Broadway, Lancaster. The "all-you-can-eat" event is priced at $6 for adults and $4 for children to age 12 at the door; prices are a dollar less for tickets bought ahead of time. Call 685-5766 for tickets. . . .

NEW POST -- Army Staff Sgt. Jonathan P. Linde, a 1995 graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield Senior High School in Sanborn, has arrived for duty at the Army Recruiting Station in Rochester.

Linde, a recruiter, has served 10 years in the military. He is the son of Joyce M. Linde of Buffalo. . . .
