M&T Bank Corp. elected an executive from Allied Irish Banks Plc to its board, replacing another AIB executive who stepped down.
Colm E. Doherty will assume positions on the boards of both the corporation and M&T Bank. Doherty, 46, is managing director of AIB Capital Markets, the global treasury, investment banking and corporate banking unit of AIB.
He is also a member of AIB's board, as well as its executive management committee, credit committee and market risk committee. Additionally, the veteran of British and Irish investment banking is a member of the Prime Minister's Advisory Committee on the International Financial Services Centre.
He takes the board seat of Gary Kennedy, AIB's former group director of finance and enterprise technology. AIB announced in June that Kennedy was leaving by December to seek new opportunities, although he will remain an adviser to AIG on finance and risk.
