NIAGARA FALLS -- Services for Jean Marjorie Hertel, a homemaker and active church worker, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church, 8210 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
Mrs. Hertel, who was born Jean Marjorie Galley in Niagara Falls, died Friday in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 82.
She was active at First United Methodist Church and was a past matron of the Order of Amaranth. She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Hertel enjoyed square dancing and camping.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Edward A.; two daughters, Karen Green of Niagara Falls and Janis Fey of Lockport; two sons, Stephen of Batavia and Barry of New Bern, N.C.; a brother, Clarence "Bud" Galley Jr. of Niagara Falls; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
