Beulah Gregersen-Longfellow Oct. 24, 1925 -- Sept. 14, 2005

Services for Beulah M. "Peggy" Gregersen-Longfellow, a retired office manager, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in John Roberts Funeral Home, 1361 Hertel Ave. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery on Oct. 3.

Mrs. Longfellow, who was born Beulah Carpenter in Zanesville, Ohio, died Sept. 14 in Niagara Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. She was 79.

She moved from Berea, Ky., to Buffalo in 2001 after working as an office manager for the Army for 20 years and office worker for the Sante Fe Railroad for 17 years. She retired in 1990.

Mrs. Longfellow was a member of the Gold Star Wives Club, an organization for widows of military personnel who died while on active duty. Her husband, Ralph, died in 1969 while stationed in Virginia. She will be buried next to him in Arlington National Cemetery.

She enjoyed travel and needlework.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph D. II of Highland, Calif., and Donald E. of Buffalo; three sisters, Mary K. Hathaway of Malabar, Fla., and Ruth Ann Couch and Vera Joan Carpenter, both of Vero Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Dent Carpenter and Jack Carpenter, both of Cambridge, Ohio; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
