Rosie Lee Brooks, 79, of Grand Island, a retired hospital administrator, died Wednesday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a short illness.
Born Rosie Moody in Meridian, Miss., Mrs. Brooks grew up in Mississippi and moved to Tennessee in 1944. She moved to New York City in 1946, then to Buffalo in 1965. She lived here until 1975, when she moved to Tuskegee, Ala. She has lived on Grand Island for the past year.
Mrs. Brooks worked as a sales manager for a local firm before her move to Alabama, where she worked as a hospital administrator for 17 years until her retirement in 1990.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Marvellas; a daughter, Patricia Allen of Buffalo; two sons, Marvellas Jr. of Petersburg, Va., and Glenn of Grand Island; a sister, Elizabeth Moody of New York City; a brother, William Moody of Buffalo; three grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 10 a.m. today in Sunrise Chapel Mausoleum in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
