Margaret L. Smythe, a homemaker, died last Saturday in Francis House, Syracuse, after a long illness. She was 92.
Born Margaret Fredericks in Buffalo and known to friends as "Peg," she grew up in Kenmore, where she obtained a high school equivalency diploma after attending Kenmore High School. She later lived in the Town of Tonawanda, Clarence, Williamsville and Liverpool.
Mrs. Smythe was active for several years in the Clarence Senior Citizens Center.
She lived in Liverpool the past eight years.
Her husband, Joseph A., died in 2002.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Schick of Fulton; a son, Thomas of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 3 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 425 Beechwood Ave., Liverpool.
