Howie Day returns to town following his June appearance at Thursday at the Square for an 8 p.m. show Thursday in the Reilly Center Arena at St. Bonaventure University in Olean.
Day's most recent effort, "Stop All the World Now," kept him on the road pretty much nonstop since it was released more than a year ago. But now, the record has been reissued in the dual disc format, with the original album on one side of the disc, and a DVD including unreleased material, live tunes and videos on the other. This was apparently enough of a reason for Day to cancel his well-earned vacation and keep right on truckin', extending his summer tour through the fall and urging along the mounting momentum that has seen his popularity blossom over the past six months, as he toured like the devil.
Of course, having your songs played during episodes of "Scrubs," "Third Watch" and "One Life to Live" doesn't hurt, either.
Day will share the bill with Brandi Carlile on Thursday. Tickets are priced $10 to $12 (box office, Tickets.com).
