Richard T. Kubala Jr., a Blasdell native most recently living in Climax, N.C., died Saturday in an all-terrain vehicle accident in West Virginia. He was 41.
Mr. Kubala was born in Buffalo and grew up in Blasdell. He attended Frontier High School and served four years in the Marine Corps during the early 1980s.
He married Penny Auman in 1984, and they lived in Western New York for a brief time before settling in North Carolina.
Mr. Kubala was the owner and operator of R.T.K. Inc., an automotive repair shop.
Besides his wife of 20 years, he is survived by two daughters, Kara A. and Allison K., both of Climax; his mother and stepfather, Barbara and George Owczarek of Hamburg; three sisters, Tina Hayden of Sheridan, Kelley Owczarek of Lackawanna and his twin, Robyn Suppa of Angola; and a brother, Jon Owczarek, of Angola.
A service was held Wednesday in Pleasant Garden, N.C. Interment was in Gilmore Memorial Park, Julian, N.C.
