Norman F. Duschen, a longtime Morton Salt Co. worker, died unexpectedly Tuesday in his Castile home. He was 79.
A lifelong resident of Castile, he worked at Morton Salt for 40 years in several capacities, retiring in 1991 as a case palletizer.
A former volunteer firefighter, he was an exempt member of the Castile Fire Department and a member of the Wyoming County and Western New York firemen's associations.
He was an avid bingo and euchre player and enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, the former Marilyn
Kessler; a son, Edward of Pike; two daughters, Laura Gerasimchik of Silver Springs and Elaine Winch of Darien Center; and 21 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Harmon-Watson Funeral Home, 35 N. Main St. Burial will be in Grace Cemetery.
